MAX MCGEE'S PROFILE
I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.
I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.
"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!
Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

Last Day. Sentiments?
Btw that isn't in a ceiling, maybe I need to make that more apparent.
No, that is most DEFINITELY a ceiling tile that the open door is set in. Try putting a single wall tile above it and it should look more "right" to everyone.
In Algaea, the basic elements are wind, lightning, fire, and ice (no earth.)
No culture in the world has ever considered Lightning or Ice an element unto itself, where many viewed the four elements as being earth, air, water, and fire. Remember that Ice is a form of water, etc. Don't pay so much attention to final fantasy.
One thing that it took me a long and difficult time to learn is that it is better to A) (Politely) Ignore Criticism or B) Try to address the concerns raised than to C)Try and "defend" the "attacked" portions of my game. Just a word of advice.
Why (God Why) so many medieval fantasy games and so little of anything else?
This is a question that burns deep inside my heart, but is really very simple.
I could understand if half, more than half, or even the majority of indie RPGs were medieval fantasy games. However...
WHY ARE OVER 90% OF THE INDIE RPGS MADE (extremely generic) MEDIEVAL FANTASY GAMES?
Seriously, why is that practically no one is interested at all in any of the following:
*SCIENCE FICTION (including cyberpunk, space opera, and all other subgenres)
*MODERN DAY (including military, espionage, crime fiction of all kinds)
*HORROR (including Lovecraftian, supernatural, or dark science fiction)
*OR EVEN ALTERNATIVE FANTASY, SUCH AS:
-URBAN FANTASY
-STEAM PUNK
-SCIENCE FANTASY
This especially confuses me when so many of the JRPG franchises that have been so ridiculously influential on this community (Phantasy Star, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII and FFXII, presumably Star Ocean) and so much of popular (geek) media including movies, comic books, anime, manga, other video games cover genres other than generic fantasy?
Many of the fantasy indie games coming out look promising, but after going on a decade lurking in the community, I can't bring myself to play many more fantasy games, no matter how good they are.
So, anyway, why do you think such an overwhelming minority of indie games fall into this one genre? Can anything be done about it?

Last Day. Sentiments?
Without having played the game and only having these screenshots and scant text blurbs, I'm afraid that this might seem like negative criticism without any positive to reinforcement; I'm not trying to hate on you but I am going to be honest.
1. Battle Graphics/Monster Graphics: I appreciate that you went through the effort to create your own custom battlers/facesets/monster graphics but they look pretty bad. If I MSpainted my own graphics, they'd look even worse, hence, I can't give any helpful advice here. I am not John Art.
2. Your mapping is sub par by my standards, and I have very low standards. Too many wide open square spaces, too little use of decoration/clutter/and very weird/wrong use of RTP in the top right screenshot (door in a ceiling, etc.).
3. Title Screen Really, it's just horrible. Badly aliased text and random geometric shapes clearly created in MS Paint do not a pretty picture make; beynd that, it has nothing to do with the game.
4. Setting You need to do more world building; your setting is a totally generic fantasy world, with cities? What? Either you need to give more information or you need to think more about world building.
5. Character Your class/element concepts are both done to death. Furthermore, I really disagree with a tank being aligned with air and not with wind; air is light and agile, the element of quick movement and mental agility. Earth is the tough, durable element that should be associated with tanks.

What are you thinking about right now?
What comes to mind from the username above you?
An indie game "company". (Note the quotes and omission of the word bad.)
And my username is weird so I am curious what people will think of it.

Omg, I'm crazy D:
Five Random Thoughts About Video Games.
There are several RPGs of some quality that came out in 2008 for PS2?
Really? I didn't think a lot of new games were coming out for the PS2 this year period. I thought it was being phased out cause the Next Generation is here and all that crap. Anyway, Baroque was the only one that really caught my eye (and my wallet).
Unofficial Anime and Manga Discussion Topic
I hate most anime, but the anime I like I really like.
So, basically, this is how I roll, in rough order of favoritism:
*Serial Experiments Lain
*Cowboy Bebop
*Texhnolyze
*Blame! (Manga)
*Hellsing
*Rurouni Kenshin OVA (Not the series.)
I am also okay with Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
